My 30 Day Challenge: Day 2

Sometimes the past can unlock your future. Sometimes when I’m feeling down (yes, it happens) about the current state of my life the best way to get out of that funk is to look back on the past. Looking back on your past accomplishments can make you feel better in the present. For myself I like to look back on when I lived over in London, England, because it reminds me that I had the courage to move to a completely different continent and start a new life without any help from home. I had very little money, was just coming off a three month European backpacking trip, I had nowhere to live and no idea what I was going to do. Despite all of that I still managed to live in London for a year and I made a pretty good life for myself over there. That was all me, I accomplished that and so when I look back on those photos I feel that sense of accomplishment again. There are many things I have done in my life to make me feel proud of the person I am and the things that I have done but sometimes I need a reminder. It’s easy to get lost in your current state of being, feeling hopeless about a situation, but remember back to all those other “hopeless” situations in your life, you overcame those and you are still here today. So take some time today for yourself and look back on some old photos of accomplishments you've made. Remind yourself that you are still that amazing person and you can do anything you set your mind to. We may not know what the future has in store for us but we do know we have the power to create a more positive one.
